In Loving Memory

Bousman, Patricia R. (nee Meyer)

Sunday, April 7th, 2024.

Beloved wife of the late William Thomas “Tom” Bousman Jr.; loving stepmother of Meredith Bousman, Jason Bousman, and Lindsay (Stephen Hershman) Bousman; adoring grandmother of Mason Hocking, Mitchell Hocking, Aryana Ivacic, and Xavier Bousman; dear daughter of the late George and Anita Meyer; dear sister of Kathy (the late Ron) Block, Rick Meyer, Sandy (Marty) Martin, and the late John Meyer and Robert Meyer; our dear aunt, great aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Patty grew up and lived in the St. Louis area her full life, baptized into the Lutheran faith in May of 1942; she grew up a Girl Scout and loving older sister to her five siblings.  Her father noticed her artistic talents early, and shared his skills, teaching her art on the front porch in the summer. She graduated from Beaumont High School and was a talented artist, working most of her career at Stix, Baer and Fuller, and then Famous Barr as a staff artist freehand creating ads. It was there where she met several friends she kept for life, aka ‘the girls’.  Her early hobbies driving race cars and ice skating made for great stories. Patty married Tom in 1985, enjoying a busy and fun life together, going to local sporting events, volunteering, and spending time with his children. She continued applying her artistic skills in her second career, working at Bozzay Florist until her retirement.  Her family fondly remembers fresh flowers in the kitchen every week, and her skill in keeping bouquets beautiful was unmatched. She continued with painting, winning local awards for her owls, and filling her home with her own hand-painted scenes from Italy, the mountains, and old farm barns.

In retirement she enjoyed photography and creating train layouts and landscapes with her late husband, playing Bingo and Bunco with the girls, and her regular outings with the Lunch Bunch.  She loved being a grandma, great-aunt, and special friend to neighbor kids, enjoying holidays and gatherings to share a laugh or memory.  Over her lifetime she gave plenty of treats and love to her cats, dog, and many animal friends.  Her family appreciates donations to the Humane Society of Missouri, to which she was a frequent donor.

SERVICES: Memorial visitation at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL (10151 Gravois Rd 63123) on Saturday, April 20th from 11:00 am. until Memorial Service time at 12:30 pm. Inurnment at Memorial Park Cemetery will be held in private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to The Humane Society of Missouri are greatly appreciated.

  1. Patty was a wonderful friend I knew since the 1960’s. We had years of memories working together as artists. She was so talented. We reconnected later in life and shared lunches, visits and our love of painting.

  3. My sincere condolences to Patty’s friends and family. Patty was a dear friend who will be greatly missed. She loved to laugh and enjoy life. I don’t think she ever forgot a birthday or Christmas. We both enjoyed working together at Bozzay. Patty gifted me with a wonderful drawing of my pet kitty that I will treasure. I’ll miss her.

  4. Patty played bunco each month and was known for her sweet smile and sense of humor. The gift exchange bag she brought was always the best decorated and usually picked first. She was a joy to be around and will be greatly missed by all of The Bunco Babes”. We all loved spending time with her.
