Janet of Affton passed away peacefully Monday night with husband and son by her side, at Mercy South Hospital. She was born on October 1, 1944 in Forsyth, Missouri to Judge Robert and Elma Gideon.
She is survived by her beloved husband Donald of 54 years and son Brandon. Brothers Bobby Gideon and his wife Mary Lou, Wendell Gideon and his wife Jane Anne, sister Marilyn Parker and her husband John. sister-in-laws Carolyn and Janis Gideon.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Barbara and her husband Red Ormsbee, brothers Johnny and Michael Gideon.
Janet and her father shared the same birthday (October 1) and her birthday always brought back fond memories of her father. She loved to cook for her family. She also enjoyed her hobby of oil painting and sharing these painting with others.

Janet remained a dear friend throughout all these years beginning in high school. Being a transplant from the southern California coast I was instantly befriended by this sweet gal that made me feel comfortable. She leaves many fond memories with me and I will miss our talks. Love you Buddy.

I remember the first time I saw Aunt Jan. We were having a Bowlds reunion at Legion Park. I was about 9 yrs. old and remember thinking she is so pretty and dresses so cool!
She always made you feel welcome in her home and was a very good cook. You will be missed. Uncle Donnie & Brandon you are in my thoughts and prayers.
