Francis Richard “Dick” Bronson, age 77, of High Ridge, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 10, 2025.
He was born July 25, 1947 in St Louis. He was the second child born to Robert E and Clarice A Bronson, and brother to Bill (Pura) Bronson, James (Peggie) Bronson, Ken (Mary Jean) Bronson, John (Kim) Bronson and Mabel (Mark) Schwein. Father to four children Kerrie (Bret) Arneson, Jacob (Kim) Bronson, Bobbi (Todd) McKeown, and John Bronson, and grandfather to seven grandchildren (Brittany, Rachel, Taylor(Christian), Jessica, Jacob, Jaya and Sage), Uncle, Cousin and friend.
After graduating from Northwest High School in House Springs, Missouri in 1965, Dick enlisted in the Navy in 1965 and was stationed in San Francisco and continued his service during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Oriskany (CVA-34) where he served two cruises. He achieved the rank of Radarman Third Class (RD3). He received an Honorable Discharge in May, 1968. During his time in the service, he was awarded a Naval Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon with One Bronze Star and a Vietnam Service Medal with Two Bronze Stars. He returned to Missouri and worked as a Technical Illustrator for McDonnell Douglas, then transferred to Boeing Company in Everett, Washington where he worked as a Contract Engineer and then he returned to the St Louis area and worked for MEMC as a Contract Engineer. During his working career he had two projects that he designed and patented.
Dick was active in politics in Jefferson County, and a proud member of the Republican Party, running for political office, lobbying Congress and supporting the local community through his efforts and served as a Decon in his church
SERVICES: Please join us on Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Kutis Funeral Home in Affton for visitation. Burial will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 leaving from Kutis Funeral Home at 9 am and burial will be held at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery with full military honors.
