Brown, William (Bill) J., unexpectedly passed away on February 10th, 2018, at the age of 67. He leaves behind devoted wife Carla Brown and a large, loving family, as well as boxes and bags full of rubber-banded rolls of receipts for every purchase he’s ever made.
He is profoundly missed by Jeremy (Melanie) Brown, Carisa Brown, Alexis ( Roger) Porter, Marisa Jurgensen, Evan (Brittany Yeargin) Jurgensen, Micheal (Amelia) Konieczny. He was treasured by his grandchildren Ayden, Rylan, Lily, Ella, Ivy, Josie, Anna, Elizabeth, Mary-Jane, Carly & Evelyn, his sister Cindy Brown, niece Hannah (Curtis) Blake and nephew Hunter Brazil. Additionally in mourning are his beloved dogs, Max and Addie who are just beside themselves.
Bill was born May 22, 1950, in St. Louis, MO. to the late Adele & Harry Brown. For 11 years he was an only child, spoiled with summers spent on the shores of Daytona as well as his very own pony. His childhood became full with the birth of his baby sister Cindy and has spent many years regaling us with his wonderful memories of growing up and his days as an Eagle Scout. He graduated from Mehlville High School and then Meremec Community College. Following that were many years in the Printing industry, then later he would proudly greet budget friendly folks at Walmart. He was often found there tidying the mens department and was always delighted to have visitors and shoppers stop in to chat.
It is said (by him) that he spent time dancing with the Muny in Forest Park. He would merrily tell this tale to anyone who would listen and delight when people actually believed him.
He was a fervent collector. He enjoyed antiquing and had recently discovered the joys of online shopping, as the multiple boxes of new Cardinal Bobbleheads will attest to. He loved his Harley’s, the St. Louis Cardinals, Dale Earnhardt, pocket watches, old grandfather clocks, Busch beer and the USA. He made it back to the beach every chance he got, listened to Vince Gill, dressed up as Santa at Christmas and never spent a Halloween out of costume.
You could often catch him in his chair, dog at his feet, sharing peanuts, clementines or Red Hot Riplets with whichever grandkid was snuggled on his belly while he watched his must see TV. He never missed an episode of The View or Dr. Phil and it didn’t matter which sport was airing, he was gonna watch it.
There was not much in this mortal world that couldn’t put a smile on his face, unless he was handed anything with tunafish – he did not like tunafish.
Services: Visitation will be held this Thursday, February 15th from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Kutis Funeral Home South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd.
Services will be held Friday, February 16th at 11:00 am at Kutis, burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Affton, MO.
Next time you take a trip to Hodaks or Catfish Kettle for a bucket of fried chicken or catfish, grab a couple of Busch beers and remember all the good times together.
We love you Paw – Paw!
