In Loving Memory

Brunsman, Jessica Mary

June 7, 1996 - September 24, 2023

Jessica Mary Brunsman was born June 7 1996 in St Louis, Missouri and passed from this life into the next on September 24, 2023. She is survived by her loving husband, Thoai Hoang Nguyen of Springfield, Missouri; her very proud parents, Laura (Cheatham) Brunsman and Tim Brunsman; and her adoring brother, Jacob Brunsman of Fenton, Missouri. Jessica has a large extended family and bonus family which extends around the world. Jessica was a 2020 graduate of Missouri State University with a multi-studies degree in Communications, History and Sociology. Jessica had a passion for travel, performing arts, history, useless common-knowledge, reading, nature, helping others and her fur-babies. Jessica was a Rotary Exchange Ambassador and was able to bring her passion for life to new friends throughout Europe. Jessica performed with both Rockwood Summit Silver Falcon Marching Band and Color Guard as well as the Pride of Missouri State Marching Band and Color Guards. Jessica loved her coaches and teammates and she worked hard at her craft. Jessica was proud to have been able to perform at the Color Guard World Championships with her teams six times. Jessica performed with the Rockwood South Middle School Theatre, Rockwood Summit Falcon Players and the St Louis Youth Shakespeare Theatre. Jessica attended as many Shakespeare in the Park productions as she could. Jessica’s love of history extended through her as she provided docent services at St Charles County Historic Daniel Boone Home and the St Charles County Historical Society. Jessica’s trivia knowledge was unsurpassed, especially with regard to all things Disney, BTS, Marvel & DC Comics, Greek Mythology, Princess Bride, Labyrinth, and Mamma Mia. Jessica was a walking Dictionary and Thesaurus. When Jessica wasn’t doing any of the aforementioned, she was OUTSIDE. She loved being in and one with nature…walking, singing, dancing or just reading outdoors. Jessica had a passion for life and would spontaneously dance like no one was watching…and even when everyone was watching. Jessica was an embodiment of love and truly made the world and those she came in contact with better versions of themselves; more tolerant, more empathetic, more compassionate and inclusive of all people.

Jessica and I shared a host city in Italy on our exchange, and we became close friends as we navigated our year abroad together.
