Alan Bucholz passed away peacefully Thursday, September 10, 2026 and is now in the hands of the Lord for eternal life. Alan left behind a lifetime of cherished memories, faithful service, and a deep love for those closest to him.
Alan was employed by the Federal Government, Sears & Walmart. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His service to our nation was an important part of his life and legacy. He was especially honored to have the opportunity to participate in the Greater St. Louis Honor Flight, an unforgettable experience celebrating America’s veterans with a day of honor at our nation’s memorials.
Alan knew how to enjoy life and treasured the simple things that made it meaningful. He loved gathering around the table for family dinners, travelling with family, trying his luck at the casino, and relaxing at home with his beloved cat, Simon, who held a very special place in his heart.
Above all, Alan valued the people in his life. He was born to William and Lee Buchholz August 5, 1947 in St. Louis, MO. He leaves behind his daughter, Jennifer (Greg) Hubler; his very special friend, Caroleen “Carol” Shaffer; his beloved cat, Simon; and many other family members & friends who will miss his presence, his stories, his smile and the memories they shared with him.
His family takes comfort in their Catholic faith and in knowing that Alan’s service, love, and memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
