Daniel J. Buckley, 73, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, surrounded by his kids and family.
Born on February 17, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri, Dan was the beloved son of the late Andrew and Mary Buckley.
Dan was a devoted father to Ryan (Christina) Buckley, Erin (Jordan) Phoenix, Abigail Buckley, and Brennan Buckley. His greatest joy was being “Danpa” to his grandchildren, Lillian Buckley, Ryder Phoenix, Conan Phoenix, and Macklin Phoenix. He is survived by his siblings, Mike Buckley, Mary Pat Harmon, Martha Huskey, Meg Meyer, and Mark Buckley.
Throughout his life, Dan worked at Atlas Soundolier, Arnold Defense, and Lowe’s, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability. He took pride in providing for his family and approached his life with quiet dedication.
Outside of work, Dan found happiness in the simple things – spending time with family, firing up the grill, watching his favorite sports teams and NASCAR, and relaxing with the daily newspaper in hand.
Dan will be remembered for the way he made people feel. He was loving, dependable, hardworking, and steady – a man whose calm presence made those around him feel safe. His kindness, quiet strength and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed.
His greatest legacy is not found in the places he worked or the things he owned but in the family he loved so deeply and the support he gave without ever asking for anything in return. He will be lovingly remembered.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Kutis Funeral Home, 10151 Gravois Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63123. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm.
Rick and I are so sorry to hear of Dans passing. Rick has many good memories of growing up with Dan and going to Founders and playing ball with Dan. He said Dan was a great second baseman and such a nice guy.
Anytime I would see Dan he always had a smile on his face.

My condolences to the entire Buckley family. My thoughts and prayers go out to Dan and his family. Mark and I spoke many times about his family members and while I didn’t know Dan personally, Mark helped me understand the character of his brother and what made him such a special person.
May Dan Rest in Peace in the arms of our Lord.
Thank you for our 4 beautiful children ❤️
