John “Jack” Cahill

Born January 14, 1925, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017. Preceded in death by his wife Jean (nee Gover) and son-in-law Kevin Gasperoni. Survived by 5 children – daughters Kathy (Russ) Johnson, Karen (Michael) Rallo, Maureen (Kevin) Gasperoni and sons John (Roberta) Cahill, Kevin (Noreen) Cahill, grandchildren Andrew, Megan, Michael, Ryan, Lindsey, Derek, Fallon, Jason, Kelly, Erin, Kevin, Shannon, and 9 great-grandchildren. Jack was a lifelong resident of south St. Louis city and a Navy fighter pilot during WWII. As an entrepreneur he was “Jack” of many professions – salesman, restaurateur, real estate developer, commodities broker and past president of the St. Louis Merchant’s Exchange. A loving father who took great pride in his children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments. His greatest joy came from being around family.  In lieu of flowers a donation to Make-a-Wish or the Backstoppers organization would be appreciated.

Services: Funeral from Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois Rd., Saturday, December 30th at 9:30 AM to St. Gabriel Archangel church for 10:00 AM mass. Interment  will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Friday, December 29th at Kutis Affton Chapel from 4-8 PM.
