Christian Lee Cash, age 56, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 7, 2026. Chris, as he was known to his friends and family, was born on February 23, 1970 in San Antonio, Texas to Phyllis J (Whipple) Cash and Polk W Cash. He was their third child. As a very young boy Chris lived in New Braunfels, Texas with his biological mother, but at the age of seven went to live with his father and loving stepmother, Michele (Farnum) Cash. When he was 13 he and his sister Cara L Cash (King) moved with them to St. Louis, Missouri. Chris attended Kirkwood High School and Lafayette High School, where he ran cross-country and track; and graduated from Lafayette High School in 1989. He worked at Schnucks grocery store while in high school and while he was attending Lewis and Clark Technical School for welding. In 1991 Chris moved back to New Braunfels, Texas; and for a while lived in Rockport, Texas; before moving to Florida and then to Tennessee for work. In 2003 he moved back to Wentzville, MO, to be closer to family.
Chris loved his family dearly. He was so proud of his father and looked up to him. He always called his stepmother “Mom” and looked to her for guidance. His sister Cara was his best friend; a person whom he confided in frequently. He enjoyed sports, and as a pre-teen was on a swim team and participated in BMX racing. He loved to fish, was an avid video game player, and enjoyed playing with his mom’s toy poodles.
Chris was especially proud of his job as senior batch operator at Zoltek and was looking forward to celebrating 25 years with them in 2028.
Chris was a quiet, shy, sweet, unassuming man with an infectious laugh. He was liked by all who knew him. Several years ago Chris had moved to Pacific, MO, had been attending the United Church of Christ in Pacific, and had recently given his life to the Lord.
Chris is survived by his loving sister, Cara (Tod) King, his brother Richard R (Elizabeth) Cash, his “Mom” Michele, his aunt Sandye F (Gary) Muncy, his nephews Scott and Corey King, as well as nephew Richard Cash II and niece Mikayla L Cash; and many first and second cousins, both in Texas and Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his father, Polk W Cash, his biological mother Phyllis J Cash, his aunt Darlene Neal Weaver, his aunt Margaret (Cash) Goza, and his three maternal uncles, John, Raymond, and William Whipple, as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents, and some first cousins.
The family is being serviced by Kutis Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at Bandanas BBQ at 1 Ruggeri Dr, Wentzville, MO 63385 on Saturday, November 14, 2026 from 12-3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association or to a pet rescue of their choice.
