Baptized into the Hope of Christ’s Resurrection Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

Beloved father of Conner, Caroline and Charlie Cave and their mother Kathy McCoy Cave; loving son of Ann and Charles “Doug” Cave; adoring brother of Frank (Cari) Fasano and Lori (Dave) Head; cherished uncle of Stacia (Louy) Fazio, Giovanni and Chloe Fasano and Christopher (Danielle) Melton, Riley, Kaitlin and Jackson Peek; dear great-uncle of Soraya Fazio; dear grandson of Germaine and the late Loras Freiburger and the late Daisey Belle and Charles Cave; dear nephew of Lori Freiburger, Lynne (the late Harvey) Benoit, Julie (Tom) Robison, Mary Sue (Charles) Vernon, William and Gary Freiburger Our dearest cousin, relative and friend to many and especially Kelley Stewart Bolton, Laura and the late Joshua Vanderpluym and family, the Olson Family, Jared Freiburg, Brandon Turner and Jason Lamantia.

Zach was born on December 9, 1976 in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from Kickapoo High School in 1995 in Springfield, MO.

Zach was a loyal and dedicated employee with Wells Fargo Advisors for over 21 years.  Zach was an outdoorsman, he loved spending time with his family at the family lake house, fishing and boating. He loved spending time at the Affton ice hockey rink with Conner and Charlie and he also treasured his time spent with Caroline at her soccer and field-hockey games. He was a great dog dad to Louie. He most loved bringing the family together for family gatherings.  Zach was the best dad ever and was dearly loved by everyone who knew him.

“You’ll Never Walk Alone” and “Let’s Go Blues”.  Zach was also an avid and enthusiastic Kansas City Chiefs Fan. Zach loved life to the fullest.

Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Rd. 63123 on Friday, February 7 from 4-8 pm. with Prayer Service on Saturday, February 8 at 9:30 am. to St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church for 10:00 am. Mass. Interment will be held in private.

  2. This news was breathtaking. Tom and I are so very sorry for your loss of your wonderful son, Zach. And we are deeply saddened that we are out of the country and will not be at Zach’s funeral.

  3. Zach was an amazing man! He was a dear friend and I will miss our talks and laughs. He was the closet thing I had to a brother and will never forget him. I have his entire family in my thoughts and prayers!

  4. I’m so sad that we only met once, but we both felt connection with each other. Then you told me at one time you lived on one of the streets I grew up playing on. You knew the layout of the neighborhood and streets and almost the house I live in now. I will miss you my friend, sorry we didn’t get to do more together.
