  1. I am saddened to hear of the passing of one of my brothers and fellow soldiers. I served with John in Iraq and was his platoon sergeant during most of OIF III. We were also band mates all the way back in college at NEMCC in 1988. John was a good friend and always had that smile, even when he wasn’t that happy. Rest easy brother.

  27. Served with John “Jesus” Christ in Iraq and I tell you that you can’t find a more honorable man. John was always first to help a brother out, teach a lesson that needed to be learned, mentor another soldier that had needs, listened more than spoke, and a good leader of troops. I can only image what kind of family man he was at home, because his other family, the soldiers he served with, is without now that he is no longer with us. Peace be with you and hold the fort down until we all make it home.

  29. John was a hard working, awesome, Brother-in-Arms! He was always with a smile, and never one to be less than honest to you about anything we talked about. I last saw him at the New Albany Middle School where we were picking up our children in 2018. I will miss him! There is another hole in my heart with his loss.

He was always looking out for his troops even to the point that he would call me and check in with me after other deployments in my career just to check on me and make sure I was good. We certainly lost a good one. We love you brother.

John served as my Supply SGT AGR in 1-185avn. Always gave me a hard time, especially when Ole Miss beat Alabama.
He was very quick to say what was on his mind. But he was also quick to lay some love on ya.

A true Patriot. Giving all he had all the time.

He made me a better Soldier, Man and Christian.

    Well done

  51. Elbert Hubbard was right in saying “The stronger a man is, the more gentle he can afford to be.” John Christ was as kind and gentle a man as I have ever known. He set the bar higher for what it means to be a good man. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have known him.

My deepest sympathies go out to all of John’s family and friends in this time of loss.
