In Loving Memory

Cochran, Sean Patrick

December 24, 1971 - June 27, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sean Patrick Cochran on June 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Sean was the beloved son of the late Jerry and Eileen Cochran; Dearest brother to Karen (Jim) Dunne, Bridget (John) Wright, Ann (Jeff) Sahm, Kristen (Mark) Fruin, Kevin (Amy), Brian (Jessica), Meaghan (Nick) Knobbe, Patrick, and Tim (Lindy).  Sean was a cherished uncle to 28 nieces and nephews, a great uncle of 2, and a dear friend to many.

Born on December 24, 1971, Sean spent his life making friends, caring for others, and trying to make the world a better place.  To know Sean was to love him.  He never knew a stranger, and his sense of humor brought laughter and joy to everyone he met.

Sean was a devoted employee of Carrollton Bank for 16 years.  He never considered his work at the bank a job.  He loved his coworkers, his many roles throughout the years, and the opportunities he experienced while working there.  Sean loved travelling, always seeking out new places and adventures.

Sean will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, quick wit, and love for his family and friends.

SERVICES: A memorial mass will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 10AM at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 6303 Nottingham Ave, St. Louis, MO 63109.

In lieu of flowers, find an opportunity to help someone else as Sean would have done.

  6. I met Sean not long after I moved to Soulard. I’d say he went out of his way to make me feel included in the neighborhood but I know for him it wasn’t going out of his way. It’s just how he lived his life, always thinking of others.

My deepest condolences to the family on this tremendous loss.

  7. To hear of Sean’s passing was a shock. Sean was one of the sweetest people I know! Sean was my neighbor and friend in Soulard. We spent many evenings together at the pizzeria and he became close to alot of my employees as well. I met most of his family there and we all shared a lot of good times! My deepest condolences to the whole family❤️

  9. I will always remember Sean’s laughter and his kindness to myself and others. Anyone Sean met wasn’t a stranger for long. He was a great friend and a kind soul. Words can’t express the empty feeling I have knowing Sean is not with us. I have to believe his kindness will be carried on by all those he met and helped. He will be greatly missed.

  11. Sean, Thank you for being one of my most favorite people on the planet. Thank you for being one of the best friends I ever had. From our college days, to weddings, to baby showers, to my kids’ graduation parties…….to all the fun we had through the years-you were always there. We’ve had so much fun together. When I think of you I think of your jokes, your smile, your laugh – and it fills me with love. Thank you for your friendship. I miss and love you dearly.

  12. It’s difficult for me to think of the world without Sean Cochran in it. He truly made the world a gentler, kinder, funnier, and more interesting place. I was fortunate to have spent time with Sean in my younger days, when I was a gradute student and he an undergrdaute at SEMO. While life ultimately brought us to different places and endeavors, we did our best to keep in touch over the years, especially to share major life updates and to connect during holidays (I phoned him every year on December 24 to wish him a happy birthday and merry Christmas) and to keep the flame of friendship burning. While Sean has moved beyond us now he’ll always be a part of my life and who I am. That transcends life, death, and all the myriad possibilities in between. I love you always Sean, and you’re forever with me.
