In Loving Memory

Colberg, Fredrick E.

November 20, 1930 - October 21, 2025

On Tuesday October 21, 2025. Loving husband of the late Linda Colberg (nee Wethington). Beloved father of Debra (Scott) Rehmer,, Susan (William) Glore, Stephen (Shannon) and Andrew (Mercy) Colberg. Cherished grandfather of Jacob (Abby) Glore, Joshua Glore, Alynda (Tim) Kusterer, Annabelle Rehmer, Timothy, Johanna, Carmalene and Letitia Colberg, great grandfather of Cage, Jagger and Lydia. Special friend of Dolores Busch. Our dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.

Fredrick was born on November 20, 1930, in the village of Munger, Michigan, the son of Carl and Helen Colberg. His father Carl delivered petroleum products to farmers, and his mother was a stay-at-home mom. He was the second oldest of six children. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and loved staying active at his church throughout his life.

Fredrick loved his country. He proudly served in the United States Army and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Michigan. Fredrick later worked as a cartographer for the U.S. Air Force at the Defense Mapping Agency Aerospace Center (DMAAC), where he dedicated many years of service before retiring in 1986.

He met Linda Wethington at work, and they married in March 1962.  They enjoyed an active and wonderful life together. Between Jan 1963 and Dec 1968, they were blessed with 4 children. Debra, Susan, Stephen and Andrew. After Linda passed, in 1990, he had two special companions, Darlene Mueller, who passed also, and as of 2002, his friend Dolores Busch.

Fredrick was a kind, hard-working man of many interests. He enjoyed playing softball, hiking, gardening, hunting, spending time at the gun club, volunteering at church, and caring for his dogs. But above all, his greatest joy in life was his family—especially being involved in the lives of his grandchildren as they grew up.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to everyone who was blessed to know him.

Isaiah 26:3 “You, LORD, give perfect peace to those who keep their purpose firm and put their trust in you.”

Services; Visitation at St. John’s Lutheran Church (3517 Jeffco Blvd. Arnold, MO 63010) on Saturday Nov. 1, from 9:30AM until service at 11AM. Interment St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to St. John’s Lutheran Church building fund appreciated.

Condolences

  3. So sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. I remember him as a kind congenial man and always imagined he worked as a secret agent of the government as he was rather quiet and reserved. 😂😂. I’m sure you are all going to miss him terribly. When I heard, I wanted to turn and tell Roger…….. I guess he probably already knew and helped welcome him home in heaven.
