Colombo, Kenneth Charles “Ken”

September 9, 1944 - October 5, 2023

Kenneth Charles Colombo, age 79, of St. Louis, MO passed away and was welcomed home to Heaven on Thursday, October 5, 2023. Ken was born in St. Louis, MO on September 9, 1944 to Charles and Josephine Colombo.

Ken is survived by the love of his life, Joyce, his wife of 57 years; his loving children, Brian Colombo (Lisa) and Angi Hill (Donald); his treasured grandchildren, Bryce Colombo, Cody (Lauren) Hill, Breanna (Mark) Melville, Zach (Taylor) Hill, Bryant Colombo and Lauren Colombo; his treasured great granddaughter Aubrey Hill; a dear brother-in-law to Pat Colombo; and a loving cousin, uncle, and friend to so many others who were blessed to know him.

Ken was preceded in death by his father, Charles Colombo; mother, Josephine Colombo; and brother, Robert Colombo.

Ken graduated high school at CBC, graduated college at the University of Notre Dame and served his country as a Sargent in the US Airforce. Ken was an accountant most of his career and was bidding jobs for Colombo Construction when he retired. Ken was a soccer coach for 35+ years where he helped many of his players obtain scholarships to various colleges. He was a kind and loving friend to so many. Ken loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed anything involving his grandchildren, every sport known to man and loved taking photos, traveling and fishing.

Ken will be missed by so many but will never be forgotten.

A Celebration honoring Ken’s life will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Kutis Affton (10151 Gravois Road, St. Louis, MO 63123) from 4:00pm – 8:00pm.

Ken and his family ask that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to Make-a-Wish Missouri-Kansas.

    I was so sad to see Ken passed. He was such a wonderful person. I enjoyed our conversations when he used to call or come into the office. All of you are in my prayers.

  3. Ken was such a joy to be with. I can still hear his laughter. So fortunate to have him for a cousin and friend. You are all in our prayers.

  4. Ken and Dad are having a good time now…talking soccer and reminiscing about old times coaching together. The Colombo family is in my prayers.

  6. Ken was a fantastic coach to our daughter Ashley. The whole team was a family and traveled with Ken and Joyce. We just loved him!!
