
Angelo was fortified with the Sacraments on Friday, February 13th, 2026.
Beloved husband of the late Laura Colona (Shaw). Father of John Colona, Marilyn (Marvin) Gilliam, Chris (Lori) Colona, Tim (Diane) Colona and David Colona. Adoring grandfather of Dominic (Tanya), Nicholas (Emily), Joey, Courtney (Nathan) Arndt and Tim Jr. Cherished great-grandfather of Vinny, Luca, Ella, Senna, Mira, Frankie and Grace. He was the loving son of the late John and Anna (Lograsso) Colona, dear brother to the late Anthony, John, Michael and Rose (Bird).
Angelo grew up surrounded by Italians. His family tree was made up of the Colonas, Lograssos, Licavolis and Bommaritos. He stayed involved in the Italian’s Pleasure Club (IPC) up until his death. Angelo attended De Andreis High School in North St. Louis near where he grew up. He served in the Army after high school. He married Laura and stayed together for the next 65 years. He was a devoted family man working for 30 years in the Life Insurance Business for Western and Southern Life
SERVICES: Funeral leaving Kutis Affton Chapel (10151 Gravois Rd 63123) on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026 at 8:45 am for 9:00 am Mass at Seven Holy Founders Church. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Visitation on Tuesday from 4:00 – 8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Heart Association or National Kidney Foundation are greatly appreciated.

My deepest condolences to the entire Cologna family. Angelo was a great friend to my dad and me and my family. He was a mentor and friend but we always considered Angelo and the Cologna family as part of our family. Our love and prayers are with all of you at this time. We will be mourning the loss of Angelo with you but are comforted knowing he’s at home with our heavenly father.

I’m sorry we didn’t get that dinner even though I offered to bring lunch. I was working a lot in Dec and I know that was hard for you to understand. I appreciated all your gifts and your thoughtfulness. You said I would not hear from you for several weeks but never expected to hear you had passed. I was quite shocked when I received a text, God bless you for your thoughtfulness.
My brother really wanted me to me you Mary. Perhaps I will have an opportunity now.
I am so sorrow to lose such a good friend as Angelo. He came to all meetings we had at IPC club and all the other events we have. He will also be missed by the of the members, We shall pray for him.

To my cousins, John, Marilyn, Chris, Tim, and David. My condolences for your loss. Your dad certainly led a full and blessed life. I enjoyed having lunch with him, Chris, and Tim last summer and am so glad that we were able to reconnect after several years of not seeing each other.
What a great person. I enjoyed spending time with Angelo at the YMCA. Always full of information and had kind words for everyone. He will be missed by all that knew him.
