Cleo-COnrath

In Loving Memory

Conrath, Cleo P. (nee Pfister)

Cleo Ruth Conrath (nee Pfister), known by many as “Grams” passed away peacefully on Friday November 22nd at Laclede Groves in Webster Groves, MO at the age of 90. She was born in Creve Coeur, MO on October 29, 1929 (the day the stock market crashed). She was the daughter of John B Pfister and Alice Watts. Cleo was employed by the State of Missouri as an Appeals Referee for the Division of Employment Security for over 45 years. During her retirement years she volunteered weekly at Fox 2 News in St. Louis, in addition to spending a lot of time and caring for her three great grandchildren.

Grams enjoyed more than anything spending time with her three great grandchildren. Nothing in the world made her more happy than her time with them. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening and shopping. She was an avid reader and lover of books and animals.

She will be fondly remembered for her quick wit, sense of humor, feisty, practical and stubborn personality along with her strong work ethic and willingness to help anyone in need. Her zingy one-liners will live on forever in the hearts and minds of many. She made friends and left memorable impressions everywhere she went.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Conrath, her son Dayne Schacher, her sisters Susan Pfister, Johnlyn Bornhop, & Celeste Consedine.

She is survived by her daughter Susanne Schacher, her granddaughter Brandie (Pam Sanders) Boaz, her great grandchildren: Elizabeth, Luke and Ella Boaz and her sister and brother in-laws Candy & Charlie Fears, Carlean England and step-sister Brenda Brown.

She will be greatly missed but will remain in our thoughts, prayers and hearts forever.

The funeral service and celebration of Cleo’s life will be held Monday November 25th at Kutis Funeral Home in Affton, MO.  Visitation will be from 10:00am-1pm.  The funeral service will be held at 1pm with interment at Oak Hill Cemetery.
