We celebrate the beautiful life of Mary Cook, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, May 31st, 2026.
Born on August 12th, 1941 to Clifford and Dorothy Cooper (nee Foster); she walked through life with a generous spirit, abundant creativity and an unwavering devotion to her adoring family and friends.
Mary built a life defined by abundant love, compassion, and a rare sense of humor. She loved entertaining, creating art and gardening.
She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of 62 years, Terry Cook; was a devoted mother of Shannon (Mike) Burger and Paul (Jennifer) Cook; adoring grandmother of Jacob (Ashlyn) Burger, Ellie Burger, Quinn Cook, and Ryan Cook; cherished great grandmother of Brooks and Penelope Burger; sister of Gary Cooper and the late Peggy (Harvey) Midyett; our dear aunt, great aunt, sister-in-law, cousin, and friend to many.
In lieu of flowers, contributions made to Camp Kesem – Mizzou Chapter or to The Burger Family Foundation are greatly appreciated.
SERVICES: Visitation will be held at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL (10151 Gravois Rd., 63123) on Friday, June 5th, from 10:00 AM -12:00 PM, with funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery following service.
