Cronin, Catherine Marie, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Thursday, April 11, 2024, born to Alfred and Katie Steinfeld on January 24, 1931, baptized on February 22, 1931 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, and united with the love of her life, Robert Corley Cronin, on October 5, 1957 at St. Cecilia Church for 37 years of marriage.  Dear mother of Msgr. Timothy Cronin, Paula (Mark) Tapia, Julie Cronin, Jane (Dave) Diehl, Eileen Cronin, and Robert Cronin.  Proud grandmother of Sarah Diehl, David (Lauren) Diehl, Melissa Tapia, Mark Tapia, Jr., Liam Cronin, Carolyn Cronin, and Lauren Cronin.  Loving great-grandmother of Patrick Robert Diehl.  Dear sister of the late John Steinfeld, dear sister-in-law of the late Jack and Bobby Cronin, Babs (the late Joseph) Zickel, Sheran (the late Joseph) Cronin, and Dick and Sally Dean.  Beloved relative and friend of Pat and Stella Corley, Ron and Sue Kippenberger, Wendy Worsham, Liz Cronin, and her many nephews and nieces, especially Sally Doheny with her visits. Longtime parishioner of St. Matthias the Apostle.  A woman of steadfast faith in God and the Church with a loving heart to her family and friends.

Services:  Funeral from Kutis South County Chapel (5255 Lemay Ferry) on Monday, April 22 for 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Church (4900 Ringer Rd.)  Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Carmelite Monastery or Kenrick-Glennon Seminary appreciated.  Visitation at Kutis, Sunday, April 21, from 4-8 pm.

  3. Aunt Cathy was truly a classic woman. Always poised, friendly and kindhearted. Never an unkind word. Just lovely to talk to. She was an angel! I can only imagine what a beautiful reunion you are having with your husband!

  4. A sweet sister-in-law, who lost the love of her life too early my brother Bob. Cathy loved to visit with family always showed much interest in her extended family. You will be missed at our family gatherings always felt she was not dressed with out her earrings. God you have a real good one coming home. love Love Sally and Rich

  5. We never knew Catherine Cronin however we have enjoyed her maternal and spiritual guidances, love and motherly works thru her son Msgr Timothy Cronin. We now know where he gained his great love, devotion and reverence when worshipping our Lord and celebrating the liturgy of the Mass. May she be with Jesus!

    We are very sorry for your great loss. We share in your grief and loved your Mother very much. She was such a wonderful, dear and holy human being. We enjoyed many fun and special meals with her throughout the years. She will certainly be missed by us and so many others.
