Passed away Friday, April 14th, 2023.
Cherished daughter of the late Edward and Cecilia (nee Allhoff) Dailey; loving sister of Ed (Jill) Dailey, Jackie (Len) Smith, Anne (John) Dailey Meyer, and the late Dan Dailey; beloved aunt of Matt (Kathy) Dailey, Mark (Ruth Wilson) Dailey, David Smith, John Meyer, and Will Meyer; our dear great-aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Kathy was born in Alameda, CA. Before the birth of their second child, her parents Ed and Ceil moved back to St. Louis with their baby daughter. Kathy and her four younger siblings grew up in the southwest corner of the city. She graduated from Epiphany of Our Lord Grade School, Rosati-Kain High School, and Fontbonne University with honors.
Kathy spent her entire, very successful career with McDonnell Automation (a division of then McDonnell-Douglas) and its legacy companies where she was a pioneer in Information Technology Systems. She traveled coast-to-coast for business and even lived briefly in England – an experience she treasured.
During this time in her life, she loved traveling with her sister Jackie exploring the globe with Kathy’s many frequent flyer miles. After she retired, she enjoyed spending more time with her dear neighbors and the many good friends she’d made over the course of her lifetime. Debbie Twellmann, who Kathy met in kindergarten, was a lifelong friend. Kathy’s friendship with Lynn Sapp dated back to the early days of her career. Kathy loved bunko and book club and was always up for lunch or a night out with the girls.
Those who knew her would describe Kathy as kind, thoughtful, generous, and fun! Typical of a first-born, she was responsible and independent. She was always there when someone was in need. In all aspects of her life, Kathy was a quiet leader who easily garnered respect just by being herself.
She loved her family unconditionally and relished her roles as daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, niece and cousin. Boys’ Nights with Aunt Kathy included movies, pizza, and board games and are legendary among her five nephews.
The family would like to share sincere thanks with those who helped care for Kathy across the last, challenging years of her life including Lynn, Kathy, Balinda, and Heidi.
Kathy will be missed by all.

SERVICES: Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel (10151 Gravois Rd) on Tuesday, April 18th from 9:00-11:00 am with the service beginning at 11 am. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
I am so sorry to hear about Kathy. She was a friend and colleague at McAuto. We travelled to New Orleans with two other women from McAuto and had a great time seeing the sights. She attended my wedding in 1975 and caught the bouquet! We bowled together as the After Burners and/or the Bowling Bags for a number of years. She will be remembered fondly by many. I will not be able to attend the service as I will be out of town. My thought are with Kathy and her family and friends.
