In Loving Memory

 Davis, Janette Lois (nee Stedelin)

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 25.

Beloved wife of 69 years to the late Raymond Oles Jr.; loving father of Timothy (Lisa); adoring grandmother of Nicholas and Christopher; dearest friend to many.

Jan was born in 1931 in East Saint Louis Illinois to the late Louis David, and Frieda Julia Stedelin (nee Straub).

In the early 1950s, Jan worked as a Lab Technician for Mallinckrodt at the downtown St. Louis and Weldon Spring locations. During her employment, she worked on the Manhattan Project. After working a few years, she transitioned to a full-time wife and mother. She enjoyed being a room mother at Tim’s school and attending all of Tim’s extracurricular activities throughout his college years. In addition, Jan volunteered as a head usher at the Fabulous Fox Theatre for 25 years.

Jan spent much of her time outdoors. She had a knack for growing flowers, and her yard was a beautiful oasis of blooms throughout the growing season. She loved spending time boating, fishing, and skiing at the Meramec, Mississippi, Black River, Lake of the Ozarks and Table Rock Lake.

Services: Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois, Wednesday, June 1, 4-8pm. Funeral from Kutis on Thursday, June 2, 10am. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
