Mary Elizabeth Deachan, 96, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025.
Mary was born on November 26, 1928, in St. Louis, Missouri and was the daughter of Louis J. and Elizabeth B. (Gutting) Roesch. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George E. Deachan, her brother Louis B. Roesch, brother-in-law Eugene A. Lang and her nephew Gregory Roesch. Mary is survived by her sister Rose T. Lang and sister-in-law Carole Roesch as well as a large extended family of nieces and nephews she loved dearly.
Mary was a 1946 graduate of Ursuline Academy in Arcadia, Missouri and had a career in bookkeeping with several large construction companies in the St. Louis area. Mary and George were married on October 26, 1963, and stayed life-long residents in the south St. Louis area. During their marriage, they traveled extensively together throughout the world and were active in their parishes of Precious Blood, St. Peters, and Sacred Heart. Mary was proud of her St. Louis heritage and an avid fan of its sports teams particularly the Cardinals.
A funeral mass for Mary will be held on Wednesday October 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 17 Ann Avenue, Valley Park, Missouri 63088.
