In Loving Memory

Degnan, Lloyd Leo

Lloyd Leo Degnan Jr, age 75, of Imperial, Missouri, passed away on December 4, 2025.

Born on September 19, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Lloyd and Alma (nee Kaufmann) Degnan

Lloyd was the devoted husband of Debbie Degnan for 52 years and the loving father of Heather Rice, Sean (Chrissy) Degnan, and the late Todd Rice. He was a cherished grandfather to Mayzie, Landry, and Jameson, and a beloved uncle, and great-uncle to more people than he could reasonably keep track of (though he’d pretend he could).

He was the dear brother of Mary (Ron) Uelk, Jim (Sandy) Degnan, and Kevin (Donna) Degnan, and was preceded in death by his brothers Don, Fran, and David—no doubt they are already catching up, with a full cooler.

Lloyd lived a life filled with humor, witty commentary and heartfelt generosity. He retired in 2014 but continued serving his community as the Postmaster General for the Kimmswick Post Office, a role he took great pride in. Retirement suited him just fine, he was a proud Elk & he was happiest surrounded by his best friends on a Thirsty Thursday.

He had a lifelong passion for the St. Louis Blues and never missed a chance to watch a good hockey game—whether professional or played by anyone who could lace up skates. He also loved to travel, especially a good road trip with the people he loved… as long as no one asked for too many bathroom breaks.

Lloyd’s laughter, loyalty, and unmistakable charm made a lasting impact on everyone lucky enough to know him. His stories, jokes, and the joy he brought into every room will continue to live on in the memories he created and the love he shared.

Services: Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd on Sunday December 28, from 2-6 p.m. (with all services concluding that evening). In lieu of flowers, a gift can be given to Helping Hands and Horses 1313 McNutt School Rd Festus, MO  63028 where the family volunteers their time.

  9. Our deepest and most sincere condolences to Debbie, family and friends of Lloyd Degnan. A true saint, gentleman, respected husband, father and grandfather, a master of dry wit, a very funny guy, one of the nicest persons you could ever meet and the hardest working person we’ve ever known. You could not dislike Lloyd. We could go on further! From Gravois Auto Glass & Paint Co. to his retirement at Cooper Color, Inc. I worked with Lloyd and witnessed a truly unique individual. In those 27 years I don’t think he ever missed a day of work. He was the backbone of both companies, very knowledgeable, a memory like Rain Man and a legend in the industry. Everyone knew of Lloyd! We will never forget what Lloyd meant to our company and what he did for us and our family and how he aided to the success of Cooper Color.
Thank you Lloyd and God Bless!
