SERVICES: In honor of our beloved Ron, please join us for a memorial mass at St. John the Baptist Church on Sunday, June 22nd, at 12:00pm followed by a Celebration of Life at the Officer Blake C Snyder Park from 2:30-5:30pm. The address is 9801 Green Park Rd., St. Louis, MO 63123.
Ronald Dohrman was born on December 9, 1945, to Ruth and Irving Dohrman in St. Louis. He grew up in the South side of St. Louis. He met the love of his life, Marilyn Schmitz and the two married on May 9, 1964. They enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, the Caribbean and taking cruises and always made friends during their travels. They were constantly surrounded by family and many great friends and loved going to concerts, dinners, movies and playing cards. Ron’s entire life was dedicated to Monsanto as a plant operator and manager. He was also a very committed union leader. Ron was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish and taught many others how to do so. He will be remembered for his love for music, especially Southern rock and roll. Ron enjoyed visiting his daughter Chrissy in Kansas City and experienced all her friends who adored and loved him.
Ron’s legacy will forever be his dedication to his family. The greatest husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and Uncle Ronnie to so many. He took immense pride in his grandchildren and loved them dearly. He would give the shirt off his back for those he loved. He will be so missed, and his love will forever live in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital are greatly appreciated.
A tribute to a Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd:
Mama told me when I was young
“Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say
And if you do this it’ll help you
Some sunny day”
Oh, yeah.
Oh, take your time, don’t live too fast
Troubles will come, and they will pass
You’ll find a woman, yeah, and you’ll find love
And don’t forget son there is someone up above.
And be a simple kind of man
Oh, be something you love and understand
Baby, be a simple kind of man
Oh, won’t you do this for me son, if you can?
Forget your lust for the rich man’s gold
All that you need is in your soul
And you can do this, oh, baby, if you try
All that I want for you, my son, is to be satisfied.
And be a simple kind of man
Oh, be something you love and understand
Baby, be a simple kind of man
Oh, won’t you do this for me son, if you can?
Oh, yes, I will.
Boy, don’t you worry, you’ll find yourself
Follow your heart and nothing else
And you can do this, oh, baby, if you try
All that I want for you, my son, is to be satisfied?
And be a simple kind of man
Oh, be something you love and understand
Baby, be a simple kind of man
Oh, won’t you do this for me son, if you can?
Baby, be a simple, be a simple man
Oh, be something you love and understand
Baby, be a simple kind of man.
Ron and I were like brothers for over 30 years and we actually met on a cruise in 1994.
Rest In Peace Brother….
Joe
Just a good dude. Hated to hear of his passing. Deepest sympathies to all who knew and loved him.
Some of my earliest memories are of going fishing and going to monster truck shows with my dad and Uncle Ronnie. Was a great dude to talk to and spend time with. My condolences to everyone who knew and loved him.
