Donnelli, Herman Andrew, Sr.

Born February 27, 1928, age 91, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 6, 2020, following a brief illness.  He leaves behind his wife of 71 years, Virginia (Stark) Donnelli, his lifelong friend and partner (they lived across the street from one another until they married) ; son Herman (Andy) Donnelli, Jr.(Susan), daughters Lee Ellen Donnelli who preceded him in death, Janine (Patrick Shepard) Benson, and Genevieve who preceded him in death at her birth;  He was blessed with five grandchildren who loved him deeply, Drew (Heather) Donnelli, Aaron (Megan) Donnelli, Nina (Lee) Brown, Julia (Jake Pemberton) Benson and Cristal Brantley who preceded him in death; and six great grandchildren Sophie Donnelli, Anna Donnelli, Chloe Donnelli, Katie Donnelli, Grady Donnelli and Quinn Donnelli.

Herman was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Peter Donnelli and Christina (Ludwig) Donnelli and his six older siblings Hattie (Adolph) Kreischer, Edith (Quinn) Smith, Christine (Bernard) Diederichsen, Clara (Francis) Bentrup, Joseph Peter (Gloria) Donnelli II, Donald (Jeannette) Donnelli. He was favorite uncle to his numerous nieces and nephews.

He loved all dogs and they loved him back.

Herman was a union carpenter for 61 years working in Missouri, Iowa, and Michigan.  He could build anything and repair anything.  He enjoyed being in the outdoors and was competitive in all sports.  He never met a stranger and he could talk to anyone on any topic. He was a smart and loving man would do anything to help his many friends, but most of all his family always came first. He was a gentleman always and a very kind person with a strong heart to the very end.

Funeral, Monday, January 13, 10 a.m. Interment  Park Lawn Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 1:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
