In Loving Memory

Dugan, Ila Jill (nee Bradford)

December 15, 1955 - July 29, 2024

Ila Jill Dugan, age 68, adored daughter of the late Earl and Margaret Bradford, passed quietly at her home on July 29, 2024 after a ten year struggle with congestive heart failure.  Those who knew her, knew her as Jill.

Born and raised in De Soto, Missouri, Jill created some of her fondest childhood memories splashing her feet in Joachim Creek, later living her adult life in St. Louis, Missouri, while raising her greatest pride, her children, Christopher and Melissa, and sharing in the joys of an encircling embrace of grandchildren.  She always had an ability to make every child feel seen and loved.

Jill happily traded in her DMV lens to enjoy an early retirement, and instead snapped photos of her grandchildren.  Her clever humor, subtle wit, quiet strength, and unmatched card shark abilities will long be remembered.

Jill bounced around her living room to Laura Branigan’s “Gloria” long before it was repopularized by the St. Louis Blues, clearly a visionary with some wild dance moves, but it’s Jill’s elegant rendition of Beethoven’s Fur Elise that will forever be played in our hearts.

Jill enjoyed nurturing her many hand raised backyard caterpillars until releasing them to the freedom of flight.  May their ascent inspire us to let our hearts be light.

Thank you to the band of neighbors who helped allow her to live her final days in the comforts of her home.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.  Thank you to the incredible team of doctors that enabled our Mom, our Grandma, our Neighbor, our Relative and our Friend, to stay with us much longer than once expected.

Our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye.  Please join us for visitation at Kutis Funeral Home, 10151 Gravois Rd, Affton, MO 63123 on Monday, August 5, 2024 from 3-7 pm, followed with memorial service at 7 pm. Funeral Services will be live steamed click the link to view. https://view.oneroomstreaming.com/index.php?data=MTcyMjU2NjA3NjMyMTY2OSZvbmVyb29tLWFkbWluJmNvcHlfbGluaw==
