Robert Louis Ecker, age 91, passed away on November 9th, surrounded by the love of his family. He lived a long and meaningful life rooted in service, devotion, and deep care for the people around him.
Robert spent 35 years serving his community with the United States Postal Service, followed by another 35 years working alongside his dear friend, Bill Schicker (Family), at McMahon Ford. His work reflected the steady dedication and loyalty that defined him.
HIs greatest joy came from his family. He loved watching his grandchildren in anything they did, and he enjoyed both playing and watching golf. Robert was known for his warm spirit, always looking to put a smile on someone’s face. He lived with a servant’s heart and was happiest when he could help others. Above all, he cherished his family, his many friends, and he believed deeply in “living his dash.”
He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce of 63 years, who passed away in 2020.
Robert is survived by his four children: Kim, Kathy, Kelly, and Kraig; his grandchildren Chris, Heather, Jennifer, Jessica, Josephina, Andrew, and Ava; and eight great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.
A Mass celebrating his life will be held at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque (4900 Ringer Rd, St Louis, MO 63129) on November 15th at 12:00 PM.
In honor of his legacy, the family encourages everyone to remember what he stood for: kindness, service and living your dash.

We send our condolences from Ct to the family. Bob was a dear friend who we knew for over 60 years, and we kept in touch by phone. He was an outstanding soccer player, who had been inducted into the St Louis Soccer Hall of Fame, and I was fortunate to be his teammate. His good humor contributed to many joyous moments for all who knew him.
