In Loving Memory

Eddens, Gerald R. (Jerry)

January 25, 1937 - August 21, 2026

Eddens, Gerald R. (Jerry) Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Friday August 21, 2026. Loving husband of Sue (Susan A. née Schroeder), brother of Harold A. Eddens, Jr. (deceased), beloved father of Constance (Christopher) Boyer, HR (Vicki) Eddens, Pamela (Peter) Leritz, Stephanie Eddens, and Katherine Eddens; dear grandfather of Kit (Alissa) Boyer, Colleen Boyer, Sean Boyer, Curt Wasser, Brian Wasser (deceased), Jeff Wasser, Peter Leritz, Mary Leritz, Jane Leritz, Genevieve Leritz, Ophelia Meyer, and Cormac Meyer; our dear cousin, uncle and friend.

Jerry was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, recognized as a life member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and holder of 5 patents for clutches, brakes and torque systems. Jerry loved his time as a leader at Magnetic Power Systems (MAGPWR), in particular his travels to meet customers around the world.  He was warmly recognized by his employees and colleagues upon his retirement.

Jerry was an active in motor sports, competing in motocross and go-cart races in his younger days, building an Ultralite S2K kit car and racing on the Senior Circuit. Jerry and Sue loved to take his Corvette Convertible on cross-country trips to see family and friends, eschewing interstate highways for the old state highways to enjoy the scenery.

Jerry was a keen marksman and a certified gunsmith.  He was a long-standing member of a target shooting club which regularly met on Wednesday nights for shooting, and from which deep friendships arose.

Jerry was a generous parent, grandparent and friend to many. He was a seasoned storyteller, who argued for sport and never conceded a loss. He was well loved by his family and his friends, and will be fondly remembered by all.  Jerry’s deep bear hugs, hearty laugh, and greetings of “Hi, Kiddo!” will be sorely missed.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the American Lipedema Association are appreciated.
