, 86, of Imperial, MO—a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, companion and friend to so many blessed to have met him—went to be with our Lord on Thursday, March 23, 2017. Because of the lives and hearts Bob touched, his love and his legacy endure within so many. And while this Earth is where our collective souls hurt with his passing, it is the day we join Bob in Heaven where our soul can let those emotions free.
Born in Elvins, MO, on July 11, 1930, Bob was one of seven children to Dewell Earnest Edgar and Ella Gertrude Davis Edgar. He is survived by his sister, Janet Marie Brown, but is reunited with his four brothers—Norman Lee; James Earnest; Carl Francis; and Earl Stanley—and sister, Betty Ruth Crowder. Bob was the proud uncle to 15 nephews and nieces.
Formerly married to Shirley Ann Howlett on January 12, 1957, they were blessed with three incredible children. He is survived by daughters Melissa Ann Adams and her husband Terry Adams of Arnold, MO; and Tamara Lea Tolley and her husband Scott Tolley of Wellington, FL. Bob now joins his son Randall Dean Edgar, who paved their path to Heaven when he passed on February 18, 2013.
Bob was never happier than when surrounded by and embracing his five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His grandchildren include: Justin Elders and his wife Lisa Elders of Arnold, MO.; Brian Elders and his wife Stephanie Elders of Farmington, MO.; and Austin Tolley, Dylan Tolley and Hannah Tolley of Wellington, FL. His great-grandchildren are Owen Elders of Arnold and Peyton Elders of Farmington.
Bob is also survived by long-time and loving companion, Georgia Reid of Imperial, MO.
Robert Loyd Edgar was a proud and dedicated veteran of the United States Navy. He was a master builder and carpenter, whose talented hands helped construct some of the most memorable buildings in Greater St. Louis. And it was with his loving and giving heart that served to construct cherished memories that his adoring family and friends will now embrace for a lifetime.
Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, April 1, 2017, at 12 noon at Kutis Funeral Home, South County Chapel, located at 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, Mehlville, MO, 63129 (314-894-4500). The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 1, at Kutis Funeral Home.
