Melinda leaves behind her husband, Kevin Mayer; her daughters, Amanda Nasufovic and Alexa Elking; and her grandsons, Jackson and Lucas. She was the daughter of Michael and the late Gerrey Blank, sister of Michael W. Blank, and aunt to Jordan Blank.
Melinda was a lifelong St. Louis sports fan who loved cheering on her hometown teams. She also had an adventurous side, including a love of skydiving—something not everyone can say they were brave enough to do.
Her life was not always an easy one, and neither was the long road she traveled in her final years. Those who knew her will remember her in their own ways and carry with them the memories and moments they shared with her. Above all, there is comfort in knowing that after years of fighting, Melinda no longer has to fight. She can finally rest.
Visitation will be held at Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois Road, on Friday, August 28, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.
