Enke, LeeRoy Alfred

LeeRoy Alfred Enke passed away on February 6, 2024, in his home in St Louis, Missouri at the age of 93. LeeRoy is survived by his two daughters, Iris Manson (Jim) and Rita Enke, and 4 grandchildren Dacota Perez, Jane Manson, Andy Manson, and Ben Manson. He is also survived by his sister, Bonnie Parks and his brothers, Jerry Enke, Butch Enke and Donny Enke. LeeRoy was preceded in death by his lifelong love and wife of over 65 years, Dorothy Enke, who passed in December 2020 at the age of 89. He was also preceded by his brother Wayne Enke and his sister Ellen Mae Mitchell. LeeRoy was born in Lenox, Missouri on November 2nd, 1930, and later moved to St. Louis. LeeRoy was a multi-talented man, he worked in a meat packing house as a butcher, he did concrete work with the family concrete business, he worked at Carter Carburetors. He then worked on home repairs and remodeling as a handy man well into his 70’s. He was dedicated to his family and worked tirelessly to help his family. He grew tomato plants so tall you needed a ladder to get to the top! LeeRoy also loved stock car races and NASCAR. He was always ready to have the grandchildren over for a sleepover. LeeRoy will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him. Services: Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Road on Saturday, February 17, 10:00 a.m. Interment Park Lawn Cemetery. Visitation Friday, February 16, 5:00-7:00 p.m.

  1. Oh I’m so saddened to hear the news! Mr. Enke was my long time next door neighbor, I remember being a young child thinking his tomato plants were trees!! Became stead fast friends with Iris…. Your family is special to my heart, you all are in my prayers….
