Ennis, Clarence Eugene “Gene”

 

Clarence Eugene “Gene” Ennis, 80, passed away on January 30, 2018, in St. Louis, MO. He was born on January 22, 1938, in Mowdy, Oklahoma to Clarence and Kathleen (Hooe) Ennis. He graduated from Limestone Gap High School in 1957 and excelled in the financial industry for over 40 years.

He loved his family, cooking, gardening and the USA. Gene was proud of his small-town, Oklahoma heritage and of all the accomplishments he made over a lifetime of hard work and dedication to providing for those he loved. He always had a smile and a joke for everyone he saw and never met a stranger. His generous spirit, laughter, love and strength will be forever missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce Ann (Miller) Ennis of Winnsboro, TX; and his wife, Candy (Pond) Ennis of Stuttgart.

He leaves behind his children, Lisa Rohlman of Morrilton, AR, Brad Ennis (Mary) of St. Louis, MO, Kathleen Ennis of Fayetteville, AR, Ken Hart (Cara) of Austin, TX, and Ryan O’Donnell (Sharon) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a sister, Kathy Simpson (Harold) of Edmond, OK; and brothers, Russell Ennis (Sharon) of Midwest City, OK, David Ennis (Dee) of Atoka, OK, and Mike Ennis (Carol) of Franklin, TN; grandchildren, Brian Rohlman (Rachel), Jennifer Basenberg (Phil), Rebecca Rohlman, Benjamin Ennis, Zachary Ennis, and Michael Hart (Brittany); great-grandchildren, Riley, Avery, Zoey, Olivia, Lucy and Paisley.

Service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018, with a visitation from noon to 2 p.m. and the funeral service at 2 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Home in Coalgate, OK; graveside service following at the Wardville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to: Wardville Cemetery Association, c/o Tammy Shirley, State Hwy. 31, Coalgate, OK 74538.
