Erxleben, Stewart H. age 87, of St. Louis, MO passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019, surrounded by his family in his home. He leaves behind his loving wife of 69 years, Rosella F. (nee Conway) Erxleben; son Jim Erxleben; daughters, Marsha Mieras and Christine Herpers (Russ McKay); grandchildren, Tricia (Matt) Nelson, Kim (Ira) Sult, Danya (Tom) Michael, Matt Erxleben, Tracy (Phillip) Castleberry, Amanda Robison (Scott Compton) and Aaron (Nicole) Franke; great-grandchildren Paige Hirtz, Alyssa Nelson, Ian Nelson, Claire Nelson, Kayla Michael, Allison Michael, Ethan Robison, Owen Castleberry, Kate Castleberry, Nathan Michael, Emma Castleberry, Savannah Franke, Brynlee Franke and Olivia Franke; brother Clyde (Gladys) Erxleben.

Preceeded in death are his daughter-in-law Sandy Erxleben, sons-in-law Gary Ettinger, Chuck Mieras and Denny Herpers; great-grandchidren Cole Robison and Brayden Robison; brothers and sisters, Earl (Marie) Erxleben, Lucille (Matt) Hummel, Lester (Betty) Erxleben, Charles (Berta Mae) (Elsie) Erxleben, Ray (Rose) (Edith) Erxleben, Marie (Howard) Hoge, Warren (Gwenn) Erxleben and Loraine (Lou) (Wilson Moss) Lewellen, also preceded in death by Gypsy Roselee (Cocker Spaniel) his loving companion for 13 years. Our dear brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin and Fellow Brother of the St. Louis City Fire Department and friend to many.

Stewart was born in St. Louis, MO on September 19, 1931 to the late Charles and Nancy (nee Fowler) Erxleben. Stewart was a decorated St. Louis Fire Fighter for 30 years. Anyone who knew him well, loved his sense of humor and zest for life. He will live on in all of our hearts.

Services: Funeral from Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, on Saturday, March 30, 11:00 am. Interment Lakewood Park Cemetery. Visitation Friday March 29, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
