In Loving Memory

Esker, Norma Jean (nee Spencer)

January 4, 1938 - May 31, 2026

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Sunday May 31, 2026. Norma, 88, was born in Clay County, IL. She enjoyed the farm life she grew up in.  Her greatest passion was to raise her large and loving family, welcoming all of its new additions.  Always sharing her love and home and hugs, in countless great family gatherings.  She cherished every Canasta game she played. Enjoyed watching the Waltons and Elvis Presley.  She loved to crochet Afghans for all her (grand)children.  And, handled life’s challenges with dignity, strength, and enduring perseverance.  Singing Amazing Grace.

Preceded in death 37 years ago by her husband, Edgar, whom she loved dearly. Loving daughter of the late Lawrence and Dorothy Spencer. Beloved mother of Lawrence (Debra) Esker, Laura (Bob) Mosher, Brian Esker, Anita (Pat) Wallace, Roger (Alla) Esker, Jim (Conchita) Esker, Sarah (Don) Hemond, Phillip (late Traci) Esker, Paula Esker, Mark (Deborah) Esker, Ray Esker, Jonathan Esker and the late Leo Esker. Dearest sister of Belle Boudreau, Betty Klanke, Helen Klanke and the late Elsie Wheeler. Cherished grandmother, great grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend.

Services; Funeral from Kutis South County Chapel (5255 Lemay Ferry) on Saturday June 6th 9:15AM for 10AM Mass at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer’s Assn. appreciated. Visitation at Kutis on Friday from 4-8PM

Now in the loving arms of God.  She is not looking for any more answers.  She never surrendered.  It’s just that these things she has battled have won…

Condolences
