Shumaker, Esther “Yvonne”

Esther “Yvonne” Shumaker was called home at the age of 85 on April 12, 2024 after a long battle with Alzheimers.  She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Bob Shumaker,  She was also mother to Rob (Debbie) Shumaker, Tracy (Mike) Siegel and Kathy (Rob) Caruso. Grandmother to Trisha, Dan, Nathan, Melissa, Ken, Lindsay, Ryan and Stephen along with 11 great grandchildren.

Yvonne or “Y” as her friends called her, was born August 1, 1938 in Swifton, Arkansas and raised on a cotton farm until she moved to Kirksville where she met Bob. They eventually moved to Arnold, MO  where they raised their family. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

MemoriaI visitation will be held at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. on Saturday, May 11, from 12 Noon until time of service 2 p.m. with all services concluding at Kutis. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimers Association.

  1. I am so sorry to hear. As we get older ourselves we can only hope for peace. I wish Rob and his siblings peace at this time and God’s mercy in grief. May the mortal put on the immortal and be greeted in heaven.
