Was born January 22, 1937 and departed this life on Thursday October 30, 2025 at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 8 days old at Laclede Groves Nursing Home in Webster Groves, MO.
Her parents were Elmer L. and Mildred R. (nee Burkhardt) Vandergriff who preceded her in death.
Gail married James R. Faris on May 12, 1978, he preceded her in death on October 18, 1980; she is survived by several cousins.
Gail graduated from Webster Groves High School in 1954. She continued her education and received the following degrees; M.S. in Education, Guidance and Counseling from Southern Illinois University, A.B. in English, Speech from Washington University St. Louis, MO and additional graduate work, counseling from University of Missouri-St. Louis.
Gail belonged to many organizations during her lifetime and was very active in all of them. Two of those were Missouri Historical Society and Museum in St. Louis, MO and the Webster Groves Historical Society where she volunteered many hours at the Hawken House.
Services: Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Monday November 3rd 1:00 PM until service at 4:00 PM. Interment will be private at Hillview Memorial Gardens (Farmington, MO). Memorials to a charity of one’s choice appreciated.
