Ferguson, Margaret Louise

Margaret Louise (nee Threewitt) Ferguson of Arnold, MO, had a zest for life and was a caring mother, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great grandma. She was a follower of Christ, and her greatest joy was being with her family. She passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at the age of 90 and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Margy was born on March 16, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Frank and Margaret (Davis) Threewitt and was the oldest of four children. She was raised in South St. Louis and attended Epiphany Catholic school. She raised her family in St. Louis and was active in St. Louis Family Church. Her biggest message to all was that “Jesus loves you” and shared that with everyone.

Margy is survived by 9 of her 12 children and their families: Linda (John) McNeill, Karen (John) Merritt, Brian Allen, Danny (Sharon) Allen, Sandy (Paul) Beard, Stephen Allen, Mark (P.J.) Allen, Mike (Beth) Allen, Lisa (Dean) DeLane, son-in-laws Mark Viragh and Dave Wood as well as 27 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, her beloved dog, Maggie, and many extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Margy was preceded in death by her husband Burtal Allen, her second husband, David Ferguson, special friend Albert Cherry, as well as three of her children; Steven Allen, Diana (Allen) Wood, and Barbara (Allen) Viragh. She was also preceded by brothers Robert J. (Carol, surviving) Threewitt, William (Peggy, surviving) Threewitt and sister, Nancy Threewitt.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 19th at 3:30 pm for immediate family and 4-7 pm for friends and extended family at Kutis Funeral Home South County located at 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, Mehlville, MO 63129.

Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home on Thursday, January 20th. The service will start at Kutis Funeral home at 9:30 am before heading to Jefferson Barracks at 10:45 am for the burial.

A Celebration of Life for Margy will be held at a later date.

  7. Her humor and laughter was contagious. Wasn’t privileged to be around Margy (grandma) a lot. One thing that was always obvious was the joy she reflected toward everyone. For all her family to always remember is memories live on!! Gone but never forgotten!

  9. My condolences to the Allen family. As a teen I spent a lot of time at Margy’s house with my best friend, Mike. Margy was always energetic and positive. With a big family there was always a lot of activity at their home. You would always find Margy with a smile on her face. I know she will be missed. God bless the family as they morn her passing.
