On Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 74 years, Carl E. Fisk, Sr. Beloved mother of Carl E. Fisk, Jr., Clay (Janet) Fisk and Shelley (James) Ringhofer; beloved grandma of Danielle, James, Thomas (Crystal), Joshua (Jessi), Carla (Jake), Chase, Carl III and Blake; beloved great grandma of Nevaeh, Alexandria, Liam, Alivia, Alyssa, Callie, Roman, Quincy, Cadence and the late Jaxon; beloved great great grandma of Oaklee Jean; beloved sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend.
Born August 30, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri, Betty married Carl at the young age of 16 and they quickly started their family. Her love of children resonated throughout her entire life. Once her own children began school, Betty worked as a cook in the cafeteria at Meramec Heights Elementary School and Ridgewood Middle School. She also volunteered in the nursery at St. Mark’s United Church of Christ for over 40 years.
As a homemaker for most of her life, she was devoted to her husband, her children, and her grandchildren. She dedicated herself to making sure the needs of others were met before her own. Her home was always open to anyone in need of a friend, a meal, or place to stay. She spent many years caring for ailing friends and family members.
Her grandchildren were the biggest source of her joy. Countless sleepovers at the lake, early morning swims, grandma’s French Toast, and never-ending card games are memories her grandkids will carry through life. She never missed a game, recital, graduation, or chance to be present in their lives.
She was full of joy, often singing or dancing as if no one was watching. She had a legendary addiction to chocolate, a love for traveling, and a “life is what you make it” attitude. She leaves behind a legacy of great love, laughter, strength, and resilience, and she will be missed immensely by all who were lucky enough to have known her.
Services: Funeral at Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Road Tuesday, March 3, 10am. Interment Shepherd Hills Cemetery. Visitation Monday 4-7pm.
