In Loving Memory

Fitzhenry, Daniel B.

We regret to announce the passing of Daniel Bernard Fitzhenry, aged 84, who passed away peacefully on June 2, 2023 in St. Louis, Missouri after a battle with cancer.

Daniel Bernard Fitzhenry was a 30-year employee of Southwestern Bell Telephone / AT&T.  He was a graduate of Washington University, where he earned a degree in business.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dan was a devoted family man, who was survived by his loving wife Connie of 58 years, as well as his children Daniel Jr. (Stacy) Fitzhenry, Kathleen (Griffin) Weyforth, Michael (Elena) Fitzhenry, and Colleen (Andy) Filla, grandchildren (Max, Molly, Jack, Cole, Jenna, Nick, Lauren, Andrew, Luke, and William, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His unique way of making new friends made him a cherished and loyal friend to many.

In his free time, Dan enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, and working on projects around the lake house.  His love of the outdoors was evident in that he became a Master Naturalist. Dan served in the Army reserves and was also involved in the community, being a member of Knights of Columbus, actively volunteering at Habitat for Humanity, and serving as usher at St. Anthony’s church.

A visitation will be held at Kutis Funeral Home, 10151 Gravois, St. Louis, MO 63123, on Friday, June 9, 4 – 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church on Saturday, June 10 at 10:00 AM, with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Habitat for Humanity.

Dan will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on through his family, friends, and colleagues.

  1. For the Filla’s he was the most interesting man in the world. We will miss Dan (Carl) dearly, and though it was only a short time (some 17 years) we’re better and grateful for having known him.

  2. As a long time friend-I found Dan to be one of the best in dealing with
a variety of experiences-his blind courage to forge into an uncertain
future took me into many places that I shall never forget-we will all miss Dan-
and always remember him for his indomitable spirit

  6. I’m so sorry to hear of Mr. Fitzhenry’s passing. I remember all the hunting & fishing trips my dad took with him & how when we were kids, we’d climb into the loft while the parents talked. He was always kind & had a wonderful sense of humor. I’m so very sorry for your family’s loss. He was a great man.
