Megan Frederick

In Loving Memory

Frederick, Megan Elizabeth (nee Jones)

April 19, 1971 - January 27, 2026

Megan Elizabeth Frederick (Jones), age 54, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, after a courageous six-year battle with cancer.

Megan faced her illness with remarkable strength, grace, and dignity. Above all else, she was an extraordinary mother. She was the most amazing mother to Ali and Drew, and her greatest pride and most precious gift in life was her children. Everything she did was rooted in her love for them, and her devotion as a mother defined who she was.

Megan and her husband, Scott Frederick, met in high school and shared a beautiful 37-year relationship built on deep love, loyalty, and partnership. They loved boating and spending time together at the Lake of the Ozarks over the years, creating countless memories surrounded by family, laughter, and the life they built side by side. Together, they created a life grounded in family, respect, and devotion, and were true soulmates.

Her joy only grew with the arrival of her grandchildren. Megan cherished her role as a grandmother and found deep happiness in time spent with her family, especially her beloved granddaughters.

Megan had a tremendous love for horses, which brought her peace, purpose, and happiness. She shared a special bond with her horses—Peanut, Bug, and Delilah—who were family to her. Her barn girls meant the world to Megan, and the friendships and time shared at the barn held a very special place in her heart.

Megan is survived by her husband, Scott Frederick; her children, Alison Harrop (Ashley Harrop) and Drew Frederick (Jasmine Frederick); her beloved granddaughters, Flora Harrop and Millie Harrop; her brother, Chris Jones; her nieces, Regan, Erica, and Tiffany; her stepfather, John Graas; and her stepmother, Donna Burleson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Jones and Alison Graas.

My heart is broken, for us all. Megan was one of my favorites. She gave the biggest hugs, never complained, and her smile truly lit up every room. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Sending the family my deepest condolences, comfort and love. Losing someone who radiates that kind of kindness hurts in a way words can’t fix, but remembering the good in her heart and the love she had for everyone is a blessing.

  6. I never met Megan but she left an empty space in Elizabeth’s heart. She had to be brave and courageous and she was graceful. I would like to offer my condolences to her family and I continue to wish I had met her. She will be remembered with love and gratitude.
