In Loving Memory

Gallo, Katherine Mary (nee Centunzi)

February 14, 1929 - December 27, 2024

Katherine Mary (Centunzi) Gallo, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away surrounded by her loved ones, entering eternal rest with her Savior.

Kate was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Gallo, in 1991. She is survived by her devoted children: Patricia (Jack) Stiehr, Lucia (Joseph) George, and Joseph (Nina) Gallo. Her legacy lives on in her five grandchildren—Justin Stiehr, Lauren Hunsinger, Alayna Seldin, Christian George, and Joey Gallo—and seven great-grandsons: Alex Stiehr, Connor Stiehr, Asher Hunsinger, Brecken Hunsinger, Culper Hunsinger, Landon George, and Ryder George.

Kate brought joy to every family gathering with her lovingly baked Italian cookies and cannolis, a tradition that brightened Christmas and graced family weddings. Her hands were often found tending to her vibrant flower gardens and flourishing fruit trees, a reflection of her care and devotion.

Kate’s adventurous spirit led her to explore the beauty of Italy and the sanctity of the Holy Land. In her later years at Meramec Bluffs, she touched countless lives by sharing the love of Jesus, a testament to the deep faith that anchored her life.

To her family, she was Kate, Mom, Grandma, and Gigi—a constant source of love, wisdom, and faith. Though she will be profoundly missed, her family takes comfort in knowing she is rejoicing in the presence of her Savior.

Her family invites you to celebrate Kate’s remarkable life and the love she so generously shared. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.

Visitation Thursday, January 2, 10:30 a.m. until Funeral Mass 11:30 a.m. at Seven Holy Founders, 6737 S. Rock Hill Road,  Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

  1. So Sorry to hear of Kate’s passing. Kate always had a smile on her face. She was our oldest son’s preschool teacher. So some fun memories of his preschool until we moved to Chicago and then a new Preschool. Kate was a good baker and we were able to enjoy her Cannolis. Kate lived a long life and I’m sure she will be missed.
