Peter Genovese Obit

In Loving Memory

Genovese, Peter Michael “The Genovese”

July 1, 1935 - September 29, 2024

Beloved husband of Patricia Ann Genovese (nee Aboussie); loving father of Mary (John) Jansen, Frank (Stephanie) Genovese, and Martie (Rachel) Genovese; adoring grandfather of John Michael (Cassie), Elizabeth, and Matthew (Emily) Jansen, Sophia (Jane Gray), Peter, Isabella, Gianna, and Luciana Genovese; cherished great grandfather of Adeline and Sylvie Jansen; treasured son of the late Frank and Louise (nee Dezen) Genovese; beloved son-in-law of the late Martie Murph and Mary (nee Michaels) Aboussie; dearest brother-in-law of Martie and LeEllen Aboussie; dear Uncle Pete of Amy and the late Martie (Jay) Aboussie; our dear cousin and friend.

Pete was a proud man who loved God, Country and the Corps.  He was a journeyman wireman for over 60 years with IBEW Local 1.  He was a past member of St. Pius V Parish where he was active in the liturgy, volunteering, coaching and made many lifelong friends.  He later joined St. Raphael the Archangel Parish where he was a fixture at 4:30 PM mass on Saturdays. Pete was a lifetime member of the IPC Bosco Boys and cherished the men in it.

Pete was a master chef and pit master, specializing in anything pasta, chicken Genovese and St. Louis style ribs and tips!  He was a lover of golf and ice-cold frosty beverages!

Pete was happiest when he was surrounded by his family and celebrating their achievements.   He will be dearly missed but forever endeared in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Raphael the Archangel St. Vincent de Paul Society.

SERVICES: Funeral Mass at St. Raphael the Archangel (6047 Bishops Pl., 63109) on Monday, October 7th at 10:00 AM. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Visitation at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL (10151 Gravois Rd., 63123) on Sunday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM.
