Gerwel, Catherine Edith 79, passed away peacefully  December 25, 2017. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Bernard Gerwel. Mom to Bernie (Georgette) Gerwel, the late Joe (survived by Nancy) Gerwel, Kathy (Jim) Perks, Carolyn (Alex) Swarm, Bob (Brenda) Gerwel, Mike (Jen) Gerwel, Tom Gerwel (Mary Rakoski). Loved being a grandma to, Kevin (Katie),  Jimmy, Steve, Becky (Tim), Breanna (Josh), John (Alex), Blake, Tim, Sarah, Jennifer, Andy, Josh, Alyssa, Christopher, Bryan, Wyatt, Tristan. Great-Grandma to Jack, Erica, Payton, Patrick, Grayson & Cecelia.  Loving sister of Tom Phillips, Marie Arnold, Alice Barone and the late Clarence Phillips, Harry Phillips, Ruth Luebbers, Ann  Prindle, dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend to many over the years. Special thanks to the entire staff at Gardenview Care Center, they always treated mom like family!

As most of us at our death are reunited with our loved ones, in Catherine’s world her beloved Bernie never left her. She lived daily with the memories of her childhood, her siblings that went before her and her parents. May she now rest in peace with them in her eternal life. Mom, time to go have one big party in heaven with those loved ones you spent your time with the past 2 years. We will love and miss you forever!

Services: Funeral from KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 5255  Lemay Ferry Rd., Saturday, December 30, 12:00 Noon to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Church, 4900 Ringer Rd., for 12:30 p.m. Mass. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Visitation Friday, 4-8 p.m.
