Mari was one of the brightest lights this world has ever seen! Our earthly Saint is now in heaven!
We share a loving history of dear friendship for over 50 years with this wonderful, beautiful woman who really was like family to us. The laughter, the tears, just sharing our lives was a true privilege and a gift from God. Mari was an incredible Christian witness who overflowed with love and grace. We will always hear her beautiful laugh and remember her with gratitude. We are so thankful for the gift of Mari and how she touched our whole family.
With so much love,
Jim and Bennie Swanson
Fond memories of Marita (and Mike) from high school. Always a great attitude and smile. Condolences to the family.
Mari and Mike shared their great love with everyone blessed to know them. Their home welcomed friends and family in moments of joyful celebration as well as moments of trial and challenge. No matter the occasion, everyone walked on strengthened and inspired. Their legacy is forever.
Mari was one of those blessed souls the Lord put among us to show us an example of how to live. She lived a life of honesty, love,
compassion, suffering, devotion, fortitude……a Saint on Earth!
With all that said….she was a humble servant. If you said to her how
she was such a wonderful person, she would say..oh thank you and just smile. That is just a nutshell of my experience with her.
Mari always lit up a room with her smile and engaging personality. I feel honored to have known such a special person. She brought great joy to so many lives.
As all have expressed, Mari was a gentle, joyful soul and never failed to bring a smile to my heart with her banter and giggle over the years. I am so glad to have known her.
Mari was such a happy person. Her smile was infectious. Her humor was subtle but appreciated. Such a positive attitude about her illness and stubbornness about controlling her life. An attitude to be emulated.
I met up with Mari at Bethesda where we were both healing from falls after meeting her many years ago . She made my 12 day stay while in therapy so much better. Such a wonderful gentle woman who always had a smile on her face even if things weren’t going so well for her. Being reunited with her husband who has been waiting for her for many years is the one thing that puts a smile on my face about her passing. They had a great life together but he was taken too soon. I did meet up with Mari again last summer when she was in Bethesda again. I was visiting someone else and discovered she was there. I thank God I was able to see her and catch up with her again. It was a pleasure to have met her.
Mari was a blessing to everyone she knew or even met briefly. She was such a bright light in this world. My sincere condolences to Michael and his family and to Susan, the entire Wind family, and especially Gloria, who was so much more than a sister-in-law to Mari. May Mari rest in peace and be joyfully reunited with Mike and John. Thank you, Mari, for being in my life. ❤️
Mari was our dental hygienist for many years. We were also blessed to be fellow MMOC parishioners. We will always remember the warm smile we came to expect any time we saw her. May she rest in eternal, heavenly peace! 🙏
I knew Mari from Mary, Mother of the Church, located in south St. Louis County. If you were around Mari, you wouldn’t be in a bad mood. She tolerated her illness with Grace. Miss you.
