Godby, Betty A.

July 13, 1965 - April 8, 2025

Age 59. Betty was the youngest daughter of Lewis Haar and Mary (Kampwerth) Haar, born in Highland, IL on July 13, 1965.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband Ronnie Godby, children Zachary Godby and Jessica Godby, brother Charlie (Deborah) Haar, and sisters Janet (Fred) Zurfluh and Sue (Rusty) Smith.

Betty enjoyed spending time outdoors. She took pride in her gardening, loved relaxing by the pool, and always had a good time around a fire with her family and her friends. She was also a big fan of the Cardinals baseball team.

Betty was loved by many and will be deeply missed. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on April 8, 2025. She was able to save lives through organ donation.

Arrangements for Betty have yet to be finalized.

  1. My sympathies to entire family! Her smile was as big as her heart. My mother, her aunt, enjoyed the many visits the past months they had together. Now in heaven, they will continue shared stories. Betty was one of a kind, always sweet. RIP

Betty was an amazing person I always loved coming over hanging out not long ago I remember burning some of the trees that fell down, and I made the fire a little too big and it touched the tree and I remember looking at Betty and thinking what do I do and she had the same look I had it didn’t do anything but we got worried that was probably the funniest memory but there’s a lot from the 4 years I’ve known Betty but I wanted to share it.
