Nancy A. Govero, (nee Smreker) 63, of St. Louis, passed unexpectedly on May 1, 2017, at her home. Memorial Mass will be at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, 4900 Ringer Road, 63129 on Tuesday, May 9th, at 10 am. Visitation will be held one hour prior, starting at 9 am, in the Church lobby. Confessions available at 9:30 am, and Rosary prayed before Mass. Interment will follow at Shepherd Hills in Barnhart.
Nancy was born in St. Louis to Robert and Nelda Smreker on December 23,1953, as the 3rd child in 3 years to the Smreker family. She received her Sacraments of Initiation at All Saints Catholic Church in University City, where she was taught by the Sisters of St. Joseph from K-8. She attended high school at Xavier and Mercy, and graduated from St. Pius X High School in 1972. She earned some college credit to become a court recorder but was hired to work in administration for a doctor’s office. She worked as Administrative Supervisor for University Internal Medicine & Diabetes Associates for over 30 years, and enjoyed selling Avon as a hobby. She was active in the lives of her children and grandchildren and always knew how to find the fun in any event.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Nelda, and brother, Bobby. Nancy is survived by her children, Jamie (Joseph) Adams, Jodie Govero, Kyle (Lindsey) Govero, and Kurt (Sarah) Govero; their father Terrence Govero; Nancy’s sisters, Sharon (Bob) Boedeker and Cindy Sullivan; Nancy’s grandchildren, Alexia, Kimberly, Lois, Noah, Oscar, Brooke, Marcellina, Luke, and John Robert; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.
