Beloved husband of the late Betty Jane Grimm (nee Wehmueller); loving father of Jennifer Grimm and Douglas (Kathleen) Grimm; loving grandfather of Natalie Grimm and Hannah Grimm; dear brother of William Grimm and the late Gertrude Denness, dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Born on April 26,1924, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Albert A. and the late Minnie (nee Wegener) Grimm. Al lived his century-long life defined by generosity and devotion to his family, church and community. He always approached life with a sense of affability, curiosity, enthusiasm, and compassion.
His career in sales began with Rawlings Sporting Goods, followed by a long legacy with Wehmueller Jewelers. Upon Al’s retirement in 1993, he dedicated himself to his community, volunteering with many organizations, including the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, the Gideons International, the Missouri Botanical Garden, and Explore St. Louis. He loved singing as part of the Glendale Lutheran church choir, traveling with his brother Bill, and daily visits to local libraries.
