Orlyn Louis Groeper, born March 31, 1937, passed away peacefully on Friday June 19, 2026 at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Phyllis Jean Groeper, parents Ardel Louis and Berniece Charlotte May (Haverkamp) Groeper, son-in-law John Francis O’Day (Pamela), sister Elaine Emma (Groeper) Woolf (Clifton), brother and sister-in-law Roger Louis and Hazel Ann (Hartzell) Groeper and sister-in-law Kathleen Ann (Campbell) Groeper (Gerald).
He is survived by his wife Rachel Virginia (Oliver) Groeper, his daughter Pamela Jayne (Groeper) O’Day (John), granddaughters Ariane Elisabeth O’Day, Erin Rachel O’Day, Dr. Shannon Cathryn O’Day, Bridget Nicole O’Day, brother Gerald Delmar Groeper (Kathleen), brother-in-law Clifton Woolf (Elaine) and nieces and nephews.
Orlyn and Rachel were married November 19, 1960. They spent 65 wonderful years together.
Orlyn was a loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He spent 37 ½ years working in the Army National Guard. Always ready for any assignment no matter where it took him.
Orlyn had his beloved Ram 2500 diesel truck and 30 foot camper. He and Rachel toured all 50 states, parts of Mexico and Canada. They also went on 7 cruises and 2 European river boat cruises. Orlyn and Rachel also took their grandchildren on many trips.
Services: Funeral at Kutis South County Chapel (5255 Lemay Ferry) on Wenesday, July 1, at 11:30 A.M. Interment J.B. National Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday, June 30, from 4-7 P.M.
