Gloria Patricia Groll, 75, of Wentzville, MO passed away peacefully on July 28th surrounded by the love of her three daughters.
Born on May 30, 1951 in Singapore, China, Gloria spent her childhood traveling the world as part of a military family. Her home was England and where her heart belonged. In 1982 she began a new chapter of her life and moved to the United States.
Loving mother of Sharon Jansen, Julia (John) Gittemeier, and Angela (Andy) Fitzgerald. Loving grandmother of Amanda, Hannah, Devon, Alaina, James, Jack, Jacob and Ellie. Loving great grandmother to Melody. She is also survived by the father of her daughters, Raymond Groll.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Molly and Edward “Paddy” Manning, her brother David Manning and son, Gary Ingram.
She fought a good fight until the very end, facing each day with strength, courage, and her unforgettable sense of humor. Even in her final days, she was still making jokes and bringing smiles to those around her. She had the best laugh — a truly infectious laugh that could light up a room and bring joy to everyone lucky enough to hear it.
She found happiness in the simple things in life — tending to her garden, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, enjoying a good cup of coffee, celebrating her love for Christmas and watching Hallmark movies. Her dogs were truly her world.
Her greatest joy was her family. She shared a special and unique bond with each of her eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild, creating memories and leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue for generations.
She loved people and never met a stranger. One of her favorite things to do was sit on her porch, chatting with neighbors and enjoying the connections she made with those around her. She also had a love for music and dancing, which brought her happiness throughout her life.
She meant the world to her daughters and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
The family will be holding a celebration of life to honor and remember her. Details will be announced at a later date.
I was very sad to hear of Gloria‘s passing. I have spent many days on her front porch discussing the daily activities of her family and friends. She will be sorely missed. Yes, she was funny and loved to talk.

Very sorry for such a great loss. I remember Gloria in all of the words above. May she forever be happy and find peace in her heavenly rebirth, where she once again visits her brother, parents, and her son.

Gloria was truly a special person. I did have the privilege to know her and hold a special place in my heart for her. She did bring joy into the world around her. Her flower garden will be missed. If the weather permitted, she greeted me every morning on my way into work. We would chat and then I would start my day. When it was too cold she would pop in the office and say, do you have a few minutes. I got to know her, her dogs and her daughters. I am blessed to have had that chance.
Gloria was a very special person to all of us. A friend and neighbor who will be missed by all. I will especially miss our morning get togethers. Condolences to her family and friends. May you soar with the angels Gloria until we meet again
I’m so happy to have known Gloria !! She was the first one to greet me when I moved here six years ago from TX !! She had the most welcoming and warmest spirit with the most beautiful smile and laughter!! She knew my name was Elaine but she always called me Alaina cause she said that was her granddaughter’s name!! I Loved her dearly….she made herself friendly to everyone!!😇 She will surely be missed 😥
I am a friend of Gloria’s grandson, Devon, and heard of her passing through him. Though I did not know her personally, I have heard much about her from him. My sincere condolences to her family, and particularly to her daughter and Devon’s mother Sharon, whom I had the pleasure of talking to on many occasions.
