Barbara Guess

In Loving Memory

Guess, Barbara Sue (nee Walls)

October 16, 1965 - December 15, 2024

Passed away on Sunday, December 15th, 2024.

Beloved wife of David Guess; devoted mother of Kaitlin (David) vanderGeest and Alexander Guess; adoring grandmother of Peyton and Jackson vanderGeest; cherished daughter of the late Robert and Eileen Walls (nee Kraus); loving sister of Don (Donna) Walls, James (Terri) Walls, and Linda (Cole) Knight; our dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Barb worked for the Kirkwood School District for many years after getting her Master’s in social work, and touched the lives of every student and colleague she worked with. Often the life of the party, she filled every space she was in with laughter, love and kindness. She loved traveling, spending her summers at the lake, and challenging others to a board game. Family meant everything to her, and she loved to spoil her two grandchildren. She radiated positive energy, and continuously amazed those around her with her resiliency to take on any obstacle that came her way.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in honor of Barbara made to Siteman Cancer Center or to The Gathering Church (P.O. Box 435010, Saint Louis, MO 63143) are greatly appreciated.

SERVICES: Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at The Gathering Church in Webster Groves (921 Edgar Rd., 63119) on Saturday, December 21st. Memorial service will begin at 12:00 PM.

  5. David….please accept this meagre expression of sadness and sympathy. While I understand the loss of a loved one,, I can only imagine the depth of your loss. God bless you and give you and your family peace.

Don and I are so sorry to hear of Barb’s passing. She was a beautiful and apparently fun loving person who seemed to be the perfect fit in the Guess family. Her bright smile will be missed in future family pictures. Aunt Margaret sent me a picture of Barb from your wedding with a single comment, Isn’t she beautiful! She surely was.

We will keep your family in our prayers.
