Haefner, Everett John “Shorty” of Imperial, Missouri, born February 10, 1927, son of Edward and Louisa (Wuertenberg) Haefner. Went to his heavenly home on Thursday, March 25, 2021.
Preceeded in death by his first wife, Adeline (Govero) Haefner. Survived by their children, Cindy (Bob) Batchelor of Festus, Mark (Stephanie) Haefner of Imperial, Jane (Bob) Heine of St. Louis and Kristine (Doug) Otten of Fenton.
Nine grandchildren, Shane Batchelor (Julie Saulka), Nicole (Woei) Lam, Laci (Jason) Hueffmeier, Ryan (Jamie) Haefner, Darren (Jenn) Haefner, Mike (Carrie) Heine, Nick (Caroline) Heine, Amelia Otten and Eric Otten.
15 great-grandchildren, Charlie and Cooper Saulka, Mason and Bentley Lam, Quinn and Reese Hueffmeier, Landon, Karson and Adeline (Addie) Haefner, Rylee and Baby Tripp (April 2021) Haefner, Samantha, Drew, Connor and Olivia Heine.
Survived by his wife, Marian (DeClue) Haefner, and her children, Jill(Mike) Albano of St. Louis, Jane (Brett) Davis of Osage, MO, Jeff (Sherry) DeClue of Indianapolis.
Seven grandchildren: Elizabeth (Brian) Boles, Brian Albano, Rebecca (Kevin) Largent, Clayton DeClue, Natalie (Nick) Newman, Olivia DeClue and Carson DeClue.
Four great-grandchildren, Connor and Lydia Boles, Sophia and Gareth Largent.
Everett joined the Navy in 1944, at the age of 17 during World War II (11/4/44 – 7/23/46), and re-enlisted for the Korean War (9/4/51 – 11/29/52).
